File Preview

Liferay has very powerful DMS. However, users do not have ability to preview the files without downloading it except pdf and jpeg. This application enhances Liferay CE and DXP's document preview capabilities by allowing users to preview zip, eml, docx, xlsx and xls directly in the Document and Media library. Users can also preview files inside ZIP archives without extracting them.

With this extension, users can:

• Preview Office documents (Word & Excel) without downloading
• Open and view EML email files, including attachments and inline images
• Browse and preview files inside ZIP archives without extracting them
• Reduce file downloads and improve workflow efficiency

This plugin integrates smoothly with Liferay's UI and requires no configuration. Simply install and enjoy rich preview functionality across your Document and Media library.

Instructions for Liferay DXP 7.3.10 SP1

After deployment, the file-preview bundle may remain in the Installed state. Refresh the Document Library Web module using Gogo Shell:

lb com.liferay.document.library.web
refresh <web-bundle-id>
lb file-preview
    

No additional steps are required for Liferay DXP 2025.Q3.0.
